The Oz based pilots already get paid less than the local LCCs

We've been a budget airline for a while now. I can add to your list:

High aircraft utilisation
Extremely pliable workforce/weak employment laws
No real request sytem or bid line
No control over leave
No training, just checking (cos thats cheaper)


These (and more) are all hallmarks of LCCs.

In some ways this is perfect: low cost up the front, premium fares.
