Hello, colleagues!

We are trying to implement new shift plan in our company. Now we're working day, night, 2 off and want to implement 2 day, 2 night, 4 off.
Do You know airlines who are working with this shift plan? I want to collect this information and introduce to our boss and push our wanted shift plan.

Appreciate Your help!

Standard rotating 8 day pattern

2 Days 0700-1900 2 Nights 1900-0700 after last night (this is a duty day after all) the remaining is a Rest day then 3 Off

Works all over the industry, though some operators have 8 hour shifts 2 Early 2 Late 2 night. This is expensive in manpower.

I worked 2 days/2 nights and 4 off for years and loved it. The swingshift is a good opportunity to people to have a beer after work safe in the knowledge the alarm clock isnt going to go off at oh my god a clock.

That or 4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off... you take your pick!
But 2 on 2 off sounds madness...

Thanks a lot!
I'll try to make it.
It is real madness to work 2 on 2 off

We work a pattern of 4 days on 4 days off and then 4 nights on 4 days off. Its nice when you have done your 4 day shifts and then are off work for almost five days!.

A bit more complicated

0700-1900

Start cycle on a Monday

2 days 2 nights 5 off. 2 days 3 nights 4 off, 3 days 2 nights 5 off. Repeat

:ok:

Agree with VEEPS on that pattern. Very agreeable. It means that each month you work 2 weekends and get 2 weekends off. The traditional 4on 4off means you effectively work 6 consecutive weekends.

Obviously only applies if weekends mean something to you. Otherwise disregard my inane ramblings! :8

D D N N O O O
O O D D N N N
O O O O D D D
N N O O O O O

D = Day
N = Night
O = Off

Simply wonderful shift pattern :ok:

Like that one VP8..Currently on the standard 2 days 2 nights Rest day 3 off, which suits me sir.

But the younger lags with kids always moan about the lack of weekends off.

Use to work 8 nights on 6 days off as a loadie, with 2 request days per month and 36 days leave inc Public Hols...those were the days :cool:

I was first introduced to the pattern that VP8 mentioned when I moved to EZY Ops nearly 10 years ago. Having done pretty much every combo of Ops shift pattern, I have to say that it it the best BY FAR.

I've since introduced it in two Ops dept's and it's gone down a storm.
