Hi guys,

I was just curious to where they constructed the Hawker 1000's. I know they are a bit older than the 800's so I am guessing they were created in the UK. However I know that Hawker's now are made in Wichita and I've noticed possibly Little Rock, AR. Correct me if I am wrong. Just was a little curious to where the final assembly was made. IMO you don't see a lot of Hawkers being ferried across the pond so I am guessing they are made in the U.S. and possibly the Hawker 1000 parts were in the UK and shipped to the U.S. Some more insight on this would be great.

Thank you,

Chris

Hi Chris,

The 1000 series was made in the UK, at Hawarden near Chester (EGNR)

All of the production took place there from the start of the program (Which was originally called Dehavilland Jet Dragon) until the retards at British Aerospace sold out the program for around the value of the aircraft inventory to Raytheon in the mid 90s.

The airframe is still made in Chester and shipped to Wichita as a kit of parts for final assembly.

As you correctly imply the 1000 series is no longer produced, although the current models (and any from the 800XP forward) use the 1000 series wing.

There is a very good book on the program called "The story of the 125"

Hope this helps.

Hey there,

Thank you for the quick reply. So it looks like back in the 90's the full assembly took place in the UK and they ferried them over to the U.S. So do you know what is going on in Little Rock? I also see a lot of Falcons coming out of there as well. Just to confirm none of the Hawker 1000's were constructed in Wichita?

Little Rock is final assembly, as far as the 125, its not made in Wichita at all. As far as I know, and Im sure I will be corrected if wrong.....Aircraft made at Wichita are the King Air, Premier and Hawker 400 and 4000

That's a heck of a kit.

Are the fuselages, wings etc sent by sea?

900XP, 4000, 400XP and King Air 200 & 350 are assambled in Wichita.

The Painting & Refurbishing of all aircraft is done in Little Rock.

Little Rock is only for 750 900 and 4000, and Hawker 200 fully will be there as well.
