Is this the same Bob Turner who was once with UAA in Tripoli ? If so, he was a colleague and friend, although we have been out of touch for a long time. Sad news.

Worked with Bob in the R.A.F.
A truly exceptional person, you could not wish for a better friend or colleague. A sad way to go, Bob, R.I.P

Very sad to know that it was the Bob i knew ( and had some great times with in Tripoli ). I hope he is now having a laugh with his great friend Eddie Gordon, sadly lost when 5A-DJO crashed shortly after t/o from Sebha. Bob escorted the coffin back to the UK. Both of them allround nice blokes. RIP

Bob's funeral will be held at 1200 hrs at St Peter's RC church, Carronbridge Rd, Swindon, SN5 7ES on the 2nd June. All welcome but no black please and no floral tributes. Donations to Bob's favourite charities, Alrewas National Arboretum, Help for Heroes or the Royal British Legion. The wake at 1400 hrs will be at The Wiltshire Hotel and Golf Club where Bob had been the Captain.
A larger than life character, sadly taken from us far too soon. Condolences to Clare and daughter Roisin.

Unfortunately being outside the UK i cannot be there. I shall however raise a glass at midday. Nice blokes always seem to go first.
