Hi All,

Firstly, I should introduce myself.

My names Nathan, I'm 19 and have been looking around this side of the forum for a few days now and thought I should write a post as i'm sure many of you can help. :ok:

I have always wanted to get into Aviation, since I was in High school.

After watching the program 'Airline' call me sad and geekish, I've heard it all before, Civilian flying is a career that many of us want to embark on.

I have been recommended CTC Wings as a good starter to a career.

However, (and I apologise profusely if this has been mentioned a million times), but what are the Educational requirements that CTC will accept for their Cadet programme - Selection Process - CTC Wings Cadet Pilot Programme | Become a Pilot with CTC Wings | Airline Pilot Training (http://www.ctcwings.com/europe/cadets/selection.asp)

I'm sorry if this should have been added to one of the other CTC Wings threads' its just theres so many, I wouldn't know where to place it.

I have had previous flying experience, I worked as a Volunteer at my local flying club for just over a year, throughly enjoyed the experience and all the staff, but I thought it was time for me to make an attempt at becoming a Pilot.

Any advice or comments, please say, if I've been a dingbat and created this thread in the wrong section, I apologise. :ugh:

I'm only a wannabe - don't shout :E.

Thanks all.

Hi nathan!
Don't worry im sure many of us still watch airline...well i do anyway :O

With regards to your question the only which i can see on the website is this, which you have probably seen!

'be able to demonstrate that you have successfully completed secondary or high school education'

Off the top of my head this is 5GCSE's Grade A-C in Maths, English and a Science. I think it is two A levels also, although this seems to vary with each FTO.

Assuming you are looking to go intergrated, the three 'big boys' so to speak are FTE, flight training europe, CTC and OAA, oxford aviation. It is paramount you look around and do your research!

Thanks for the reply.

Does anyone know the full-cost of the course, as its not mentioned on the website - most likely for security reasons.

I'm know its not going to be cheap, but its something I can plan for in the future if the price is a vast amount.

Thanks

Why would mentioning the cost of a product be a security problem? It's possibly more due to the fact that it's off-putting! :}

Thats Milton1995,

I had a guess it would be around that price. It's no good for me to take a loan out, I would much rather save some money towards that instead of taking a whole whack of money out.

Thanks

Hi NDW,

I have GCSEs and mediocre AS levels (too cool for school.... or something :}), and I made it through step 1 of the CTC assessment with no problem.

There's no easy answer to the money question though :uhoh: :( :bored:
