I suspect that statistically, with smoking, you're more likely to encounter bladder cancer than respiratory problems. The first sign of that might well be haematura in the urine test sample.

Thanks lad's. yep its up in the matter. I only had a urine test a few months ago along with full blood tests and all wear clear thank god,. And I also swim a bit so lung capacity should hopefully be good. Thanks again

At your age, it's extremely unlikely that your functions will drop enough to be detected at a medical.

Most of the functions drop gradually over time in the earlier years of smoking, with more dramatic effects in the later years.

The exceptions being when smoking sparks off some 'orrible sort of cancer early on, but this in unusual.

Congrats on passing the medical but,

With just having spend the best part of 400 squiddlies, no doubt to spend a lot more on flying and training, now may be a good time to kick the habit and stop smoking.

Smoking serves no purpose, costs money and with a previous history of asthma is likely to give more symptoms and increase your chances of getting lung problems in the medium to long term.

Do yourself a favour!

Good luck:)
