Forgive me for coming onto the military thread, but i thought i might as well get it straight from the horses mouth.

A Friend of mine who is not normally prone to exaggeration say's he saw a Vulcan on the ground at Weston airport, for what reason he does not know. Several other people say they also saw it,i've tried to find out information from the internet with no luck.

Now whether a member of the ex Vulcan community can shed any light on the matter and confirm or dispel this myth and can supply the circumstances if indeed it did happen i would be great full.

I must admit, when stationed at RAF St Athan i saw Vulcan's depart using not all of the 6.000 foot runway which makes me think though unlikely, it just might possible on Weston's 4.000 foot +.

A Victor landed at WSM, but having flown from there for a long time I never heard about a Vulcan landing there:

really hazy memory this, but I have vague recollections of local press reports of a Vulcan flying into Locking on a one-way trip as a museum piece. Would have been reported in the Bristol Evening Post or Western Daily Press (same paper really) somewhere between 1970-77

Not before Dec 1964, as JB says, Victor XA919 was one of the training airframes for Locking trainee fairies but no Vulcan.

As a teenager I was rambling in a field with some friends near Weston-Super-Mare and we watched a Vulcan doing low speed maneuvers. My heart was racing at the sight and sounds.
