Hi guys, I am currently studying for my B1.3 licence, first question is, after completing the course & doing module 12 helicopters, to convert to fixed wing, do I have to do the full module 11, or is there an extension available?

Second question, is there anywhere in the UK that runs a Module 16 course (Piston engines), as I am having trouble finding one?

Thanks for your input :ok:

have a look at airmech website, may (or may not) get some more info there.

Why not call CAA PLD, and get it from the 'orse's mouth about what you need to do? The ELGD offers no information about that.

As for Module 16, you could try looking in the CAA's list of Approved Basic Training Organisations for anyone with the B1.2 Approval. My version says only AST Perth, but that may be out-of-date.

You can learn the Module at home and sit the CAA exam. AST may sell you some Notes.

BTW, if you do Module 11A for a B1.1 licence, if that's why you want to do Module 11, you may have to do 11B for a B1.2 licence. Or something like that....it's too late to look it all up.
