Hi all,
I am looking for a training provider in OZ or NZ with an approved helicopter 'Flight Training Device'. It is to maintain currency for FAA Helicopter Instrument Rating.

Any info much appreciated.

The Philips Search and Rescue Trust has one based at Waikato Hospital Hangar. Not sure if they would let you use it or not, but worth a try. Look them up under Philips Search & Rescue Trust (http://www.rescue.org.nz)

The ones I am aware of include GeoSim devices at Chopperline and Beckers (both in Queensland) and Frasca at Kestrel (Mangalore, Victoria). You will have to enquire with FAA whether these are FAA approved FTDs. Good luck.

You could try Mike Tavcar at Simflight, (http://www.simflight.com.au/) but I don't know whether he has FAA approvals.
