Hi everybody,
We are a translation agency from Moscow, Russia.
I would appreciate your 2 cents (or less for that matter:)) We just wanted somebody knowledgeable to run through a short translation below before we send it to an American proofreader. I hope the Russian translator with a background in helicopters got all the key terms right. Again, we are just validating a new translator and all the translations are checked by native speakers, so no special need to fix punctuation etc. However if the whole bit is obscure and needs rewriting, you may take a stab at it.
In fact, we can pay you for editing gigs as this is only an excerpt of a larger text and they come quite often.
Here you go:
The main adverse natural factor - the intense dust contamination and
poor condition of landing grounds. When using unprepared and dusty landing grounds, frequent failures occurred on the following elements of landing system: front and main
landing gear struts, tail support. Tail boom, front and lower parts of
fuselage and avionics and armament units, located in this area also
were exposed to damage. Large number of such damages came out on the
Mi-8 helicopter due to installation of non-transparent gun shield,
which deteriorated observation of the forward hemisphere; as well as
more intense use of helicopters for working from unprepared grounds.

Thanks a bunch, guys
Cheers,
Yuri

Those few who can read Russian may want to check the translation against the original text here:
