Wondering if anyone could help me out with a spot of identification to debunk a growing clamour about 'chemtrails' in my neck of the woods.

Since Saturday was a glorious day without a cloud in the sky, the plane that flew across left a rather large contrail heading north-west (it overflew Huntly where I was). I know it must have been a DC-10/ KC-10/ MD-11 or TriStar since there were three contrails.

Mrs Steed saw it as well from Inverurie and took some photos as it was a larger than normal set of contrails. First thought was KLM MD-11, but I couldn't see one out of Amsterdam (using Casper). I then tried checking Frankfurt (Lufthansa Cargo MD-11) but no joy there either. I also checked Flightradar24.com but couldn't see anything flying over (or close by) that was a Tri-Jet at that time.

Anyone got any ideas? It obviously created a stir since a large sign saying "Google Chemtrails" appeared on the main road a few hours later...
