Hi,

As an alternative to the rather pricey Nflightcam I've been looking at using my iPhone to record my flights. Ideally I would also like to get the ATC recordings recorded and the closest I've come to finding a suitable adaptor is here: Flyvie | Flyvie Lite Kit (http://www.flyvie.com/index.php?r=site/LiteKit)

However from what I can see they only cater for customers in the US and I am in the UK.

Does anyone know of any alternatives? I'm going solo in the next few weeks and want to record it the flight as well as the ATC.

Cheers,

Jack

stick your iphone into flight mode, set it up to record a voice note (or whatever steve jobs calls it on the iphone) and put the microphone of a wired headset under the ear cup of your aviation headset. That works a treat.

I have a better idea. Why don't you leave all that crap in your trunk (boot if you're in the UK) and concentrate on being a pilot and flying the plane.

I've never seen a professional pilot use any of that crap, and it only makes you look foolish if you do.

'just sayin.

I know an instructor who did this to record some ATC to playback during some ground sessions.

You can buy a Y lead to split the headset to a 3.5mm jack, then just get a lead to go to your phone from the splitter and its done.

Cost him about £2 from Maplin.
