Tiger airlines in Australia has been advised by CASA to show just cause why they should keep their AOC.
They have hit a few bumps in the Air and CASA is getting out the Big stick. Or is it hot air by CASA.

shafs64,

Believe me, that is one blade you do not take from the scabbard unless you intend to draw blood...

Generally, it is a sign that a lot of unfruitful communication has already taken place and they are either dumb or willing to stare CASA down (dumber). It was interesting that the Tiger spokeswoman suggested that the Senate Inquiry was causing additional focus on all operators - really?

The main Australian TV networks down here all carried this story today, full of alarmist headlines about cancelled flights and safety fears, implying the pilots don't have adequate training.

THIS (http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/04/21/3197393.htm) is probably the most balanced of the lot; the rest were more tabloid and less factual (though they stopped short of having the airline just missing that orphanage on the ground).

Bob (SLF but I've learned to be critical of the media reporting of aviation stories)
