Must be MSD aviation.....agency of hypocrites and frauds.....dont fall for this guys...its not worth spending 25 lacs and do slavery for lion air for 3 years....

22nd Apr 2011, 10:54
I think they already did... I hear there are going to be 8-10 guys from india arriving early next month..

a slave is born every minute... :\

Remember there is more to life than flying a 110hrs month for the rest of your contract... life is short... especially if you live in JKT....

As to quote a colleague of mine who spent 5 months with Lion Air... "Calling Lion Air a bottom feeder" is an insult to those airlines that are truly bottom feeders.

Hotels not what they are supposed to be. Pay was late and inaccrurate... but you all have heard this song before.

OK... finally Lion has listen and learn that you cant pay toliet paper weight wages to pilots.. well expat pilots.

They have increased there pay to FO expats to 2750usd + 3000usd(travel benefits) per month FOR 90hrs.. beyond 90Hrs overtime...by the way pilots here fly average of 105-110hrs..per month.:ok: . with loss of license 75000usd and medical benefits of 50usd per month paid to your salary... married couples 100usd..includes yours kids... so be careful kiddies.. daddy cant afford you being hurt. you gonna love the village doctor...hahaha with 750usd for housing... hahah... well i guess no wives or kids to join you in JKT.:E... and travel benefits are generous though.... ONE FREE TICKET.. (includes you, wife, kids and your parents NOT wife parents.) on any lion air routes...yipeeeee. where the hell do you go...nowhere. :ugh:

I guess its a cheap version of garuda package. aleast Garuda gets you to Amsterdam from JKt... if you live in europe.....

what I heard is the current pilots  have to wait until there current contract ends before they can enjoy the increase in salary. some have o wait a year or more. Nice way of keeping your current pilots.. wait until you finish your contract...yeah right... i expect most will jump ship...again.
No  business sense.

Btw the contract being offered from Rishworth is wrong. salary same. except work schedule... 10wks on 2wks off... only...

thats the newest little stories from lion..

Goooood Nights sex pistols...

msd aviation's lion air program seems like a genuine deal to me.

however there are a few concerns i would like to bring to everyones attention.
Lion air seem to apply for single entry visa for pilots on contracts , now if it is true , it was somewhat manegable clause for pilot with 1 yr contract ( through eaglejet international etc) but seems too much to handle for 3 yr contract.

and how long does it take to get CPL and medical done in Indonesia as lion air will sign a contract only after one has all the necessary documents to fly with them. ( you will get the salary only after signing the contract ).

As I heard that Pilot's now get a Multi Visum, can anybody confirm the 10wk on, 2wk off roster? And do these 2 weeks means being standby or in fact be able to plan a trip back to the family?

This MSD Aviation is nothing short of a scam deal.....i know 1 friend of mine who was also showed interest in joining this program n went to their office in mahipalpur....

And rest what he was told was funny/inappropriate.....first of all the lady their wasn't able to answer many of his queries...everytime he asked something related to lion air, she was reluctant to reply and answered that she is NOT ALLOWED to reply to such questions related to the airline till u have joined the program (i.e. payed 5 lakhs)....
Also when my friend asked about the exact procedure that will be followed once he has payed 5 lakhs, she replied tht she is not allowed to disclose any further information unless u are actually enrolled in their program and said that whatever is given on their website is all that can be told about the program........
But she was generous enough to tell him that u will b asked to pay the whole 25 lakhs in 3 installments (which is already given on website)....

There are many other things as well similar to these, because of which my friend dismantled the thought of joining this program finally.......
I would also recommend others to not to join this scam and stick to the good old indian aviation only......

I have an australian CPL with IR and want to try for lion air. does anyone know of phone nos., apart from the ones given on their website, where i can contact them? since it does not seem very wise to travel there without any info. whether they are hiring or not and there is no response from the nos. given on their website or their email id.

So long story short, does anyone here know of any guys that picked up any decent expat contracts flying 737's after paying for the 500 hr lion air f/o program? Or is the overall consensus that this is just a huge waste of money and it will not lead to anywhere if you don't already have substantial hours. I know a lot of contracting companies require 500 hr on type which is a hard requirement to meet for US regional guys even though they have substantial TT.

Does anyone know if Lion has overnights or not? If so, are they long, short, where?

Regionally flight and most turn around.

Please do not worry. "500hrs" not necessary to be typed rated in their fleet. Please don't get misleaded.

If you have CRJ200-900s, EMB135/145s, EMB170/190s, or even Dash 8s, ATRs, Saab 340s, that will be amazing advantage! P2 hours are still considered. Not only that, US regional guys are in better shape than Aussies! Most Aussie/Kiwi applicants are not even type-rated and they got the job.

If you were to apply from the United States, I am afraid they will not entertain. Email, phone call, fax, Skype will not help. In fact, Indonesian recruiters like to see real applicant infront of them. :)

I met alot Aussie guys who flew there and tried their luck!

Indonesia has their unique culture and they (the airlines) rarely entertain call. If you want, try this number: +62 21 632-6039

I am interested in Lion Air, can anyone direct and advise me how and where to apply. I checked Lion Air website the pilot recruitment page has been blank or blacked out. Can anyone please assist ...!!!

Careers page isnt blacked or blanked out. But its the regional language which we have no clue about.

Anyways, why dont we have any real pilots already working with Lion Air posting on this forum? Would be good to hear some first hand comments from them.

Also, whats the latest verdict? Fraud or for real?

And what exactly are we talking about here- Recruitment with Lion Air?
OR

Recruitment with Lion Air through MSD?

Besides most of the points covered in your posts is confusing.

The pay mentioned by you guys is 2750 USD.. MSD website say 2000 USD.
you say its a 500hr thing, MSD says its 2000hr plus thing (more likely 3000)

So whats the deal?

Would really really appreciate if someone already working there could contribute to this discussion.

Yes it is real.

the pay on msd's site is for Indian cadets, i believe the first batch has started flying with another 2-3 in training.

@superdunkaroos

They actually are looking for the 4th batch, Min 10 people per batch so already 30 singed up for this slavery contract. yes its confirmed by one of my friend that around 7 are already flying for Lion air, 5 more will join later this year. These despertos are earning 2000 USD after paying this much...:ugh: way to go to degrade this proffesion

I just learnt from a friend that when he spoke to CAE about Lion Air hiring, they mentioned to him saying that all hiring had been stopped since 2-3 months now and that no one should be hiring for Lion Air except them.

which means MSD and the likes of Blue Star Aviation are hit frauds.

Verify from CAE like Parul and Sandra who do indigo exams to verify this information again.

Johny Boy

@Pulkdahulk

I wont say if X ,Y or Z agency is fraud or not...but Pilots sent by MSD have completed CBT and are currently on their way as being mandatory observatory for required number of routes.

I have a friend who has completed CBT at LION AIR .
CAE hiring for LION AIR is being going on since 2008 so can not say about the continuity of it or not.But yes MSD has sent around 10 pilots from India in April.

MSD is taking huge amount for this program ...its same as DESI version of Eaglejet program. But as my friend is doing this program...i wont say it is FRAUD....lets see what happens in months to come for this MSD program.

Ohh about Blue Star Aviation - Yes they are BIG time FRAUDS and i can state bloody every CON working for this agency....

PS: Not defending MSD program nor Slating BSA ....just stating what i know from my friend .....

Pulkdahulk
14th Jun 2011, 19:17
Johny Boy - i have a friend who has done the same MSD program and is in vegas right now for his 737 program with Lion Air. He says the program is genuine.

Just at the moment of time, CAE today said to this friend of mine that Lion Air has not been hiring 2-3 months now so no one should actually be doing interviews for the airline and that includes MSD Aviation.

Anyways,

I really doubt that Lion Air has stopped hiring. They have received 4 new 900Er`s last month and they are going to continue with as many pilots finishing their contracts and getting out. I have called Eagle Jet and they say that there seems to be a problem with visa rules or something and so they have put their program on hold. Not sure about CAE, but I can say one thing for sure. Neither Parul nor radhika can say anything about Lion Air coz the recruitment for Lion Air is being taken care of by CAE Amsterdam and any info from Amsterdam would be credible. Last I heard (really not sure though) was that CAE is hiring only JAA License holders and those who are European.

What a mess.
Can we please get some information straight here?

-Direct employment with Lion Air HR, or is it through a 3rd level shonky provider?

-Terms and conditions look very weak & not competitive, in the current Asian environment for experienced flight crew. Is that a Monthly Pay, fortnightly or weekly?

- One base only - JKT?

-105-110hrs/month flight time???

Thanks

A friend who flies in Indo told me recently that Lion Air hires through Eagle Jet. Maybe it's not an exclusive agency ? MSD, CAE, Rishworth etc may be in the same category.

hi Mozes,
The roster is about 95-110 hours a month. Depending on how the scheduling works . Officially we cannot 'request' flights anymore, since this was the case for most of the guys who had connections with planning.
