Was subjected to 2 flights on Jetstar over the weekend, OOL-MEL and return.
Both flights were delayed upon boarding due to balance issues, with 7 - 10 passengers needing to be moved from the front to rear of the aircraft to correct it...
Who exactly is loading these things for these errors to pop up on a seemingly regular basis?
And shouldn't this be picked up before the flight is boarded?

could have had a trainee lead hand. I know when I was learning to load A320 and 321's I caused the CofG to be out requiring a few pax to be moved.

Jetstar have the rampies control the baggage/cargo load planning based on an approved matrix, but occasionally, when told to expect 130 bags an 200 show up things can go wrong :\

Load Control in Manila?

Weight and balance is performed by the tech crew on A320 | 21 aircraft with the use of a PDA.

Sounds to me like the crew are getting it right then.

No what has happened, is during the last week we have been transitioning to a new load and balance software. Whilst both versions are out being used there is a TEMPORARY more restrictive envelope in place which satisfies both, leading to the need to move passengers around more often. The new software version is now up and running and this problem is a thing of the past, or last week.:ok:

Zones were clearly out of whack, are Pornstar like Tiger and load a majority of the bags into the rear of the aircraft?

Yes most bags are loaded in the rear, but a couple of the a321's are nose heavy. So a few tonne of freight in front can cause some issue's and it's much easier to move 5 pax than open up the hold(s) and rearrange 9 cans.

A thing of the past AH? I hope it's soon coz it wasn't today.

To save us time, have the matrix changed so check-in will fill-up zone 3 first. I have never seen an exceeded AFT CoG on these types before.
