Sooo let me get this right. As an F/O you have to go away, get yourself a useless Type Rating in the hope that they will say yes to you? What if they say no? Surely nobody in their right mind would Type themselves on a JS without a firm job offer........would they? Really?

Or some fruit cake's rich Mommy and Daddy will pay for it.

Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney are nice in a funny sort of way but like stepping back in time in others. They are definitely lands of 'haves' and 'have nots'. There is a young lady FO on the JS with intonation that causes me to burst out in laughter every time I hear her - I dont know what it is!

I must say... i didnt apply for the position but rather recieved the email reply due to another communication i sent.

I thought it would be a nice thing to share the info on here... Perhaps someone with the relevant type might want to know.

It was a good thing to do - I am sure that there will be some resident takers.

I understand that they have pretty much the same criteria. Worth a look if you have the TR.

About once or twice a year Specsavers have openings on their King Air's only requires a CPL so good for the modula guys. The last job was a few months ago, so you might be waiting a while for it the next time around.

That job is also based here in Guernsey.

I have to bow to your superior knowledge of 'island life' CT, my earlier post was based purely on the very recent ATR new recruits who I believe will be working from Jersey.
Well done and good luck to the new hire low hours JS recruits.

I realise that this is a rumour network, but why the speculation when the position is on the BI website under news (and has been there since March!).
"New route between Jersey and London City Airport!

Blue Islands has announced the launch of a twice-daily return executive service between Jersey and London City Airport starting on the 18th April 2011.
Peak slots have been secured at London City Airport that will provide fast travel straight into London’s financial district. Flights will depart from Jersey on Monday to Friday at 0725, returning from London City at 0915, with an evening service leaving Jersey at 1715 and departing City at 1905. A further flight is scheduled for Sunday evenings at the same times as the weekday service.

Chairman of the airline, Derek Coates, says the new route will allow passengers to avoid all the hassle and long check in times of Gatwick Airport. “London City is a dream airport said Mr Coates, with a check in time of only 20 minutes, this new service means that Jersey businessmen, whose time is valuable, can make the most of a day trip to London. It’s also great for colleagues in London who want a full day in Jersey and for every executive who appreciates that time is money!”
The route will be serviced by a fast new ATR 42-500 series aircraft, specifically purchased for this new London service, seating up to 48 passengers. The same aircraft will fly to Geneva or Zurich in the middle of the day from Jersey.
“This new route is part of our strategic plan to grow the airline” commented Blue Islands General Manager, Rob Veron “Our aim is to put Jersey at the financial heart of Europe” said Mr Veron........"

Comment:
So if I was an unemployed CPL/IR pilot or ATR or Jetstream rated, I think I would have been applying in March on the basis of the additional ATR or indeed the plan to grow the airline. April news on the website shows a new route from Jersey to Bristol using Jetstream equipment.

Hi
Does anyone have any latest info on ATR positions since last year? Been trying to email them but can't get a response.

Everybody gets the auto response email detailing their minimum requirements which is ok!

The minimum requirements are correct but they do not state that they are hiring.

So do not go and get a type rating just because they emailed you their minimum requirements, you could be waiting around a loooooong while!

I didn't get a response detailing their minimum requirements! So just wondering if there is anybody who may have an idea what their recruitment situation may be this year?
