Hello ppruners,
Am here after PPL from US and giving my dgca exams and RTR part 1 as i got a UK RT from a examiner in US so i have a few queries:

1. I have got my admit card and the exam is on 13th may according to them, i have absolutely no idea on how is the exam.

2. I attended MK singh's class today but wasnt satisfied + if i attend his classes for a week, i lose out on the DGCA coaching that am taking which is a big loss too, got all the notes and tuli, kashyap book he distributes somehow.

3. How is the part 1 exam? Is coaching entirely necessary for clearing it? I got all books and personal notes of calls + question bank of 67 Q's made by MK singh. If i study them myself, isnt it possible.

4. How is the part 1 exam? How much marks? How much time, Verbal or written and what are the "logs" i read we have to make while giving exam.

5. Apart from Mk singh who else given RTR coaching? I didnt like the man, too proudy and whenever someone asked him any question, he outright said you dont need to know that.

6. If anyone could give a small question and answer like we give in part 1, would be very great...

Thanks

1- it has been discussed many times in many forums about the exam. there are 2 parts. you said you have opted for first part only. part 1 is totally based on practical communications. you make calls with the examiner and you note them down on your answer sheet as well, at the same time.

just like the dgca exams, indian RT exams are no piece of cake. people usually dont pass in the first attempt particularly if they are writing rtr-full. it is highly recommended to take classes.

2- you need to balance and study if you want to stay in the game. the moment you lose balance, not only either of both, you might just not get through both of them. try taking one leap at a moment. i would suggest to study and write either of the exams, and just let the other one go. however, take classes for both, so that you accumulate notes and enough knowledge and u dont have to take classes for the other one in your next attempt.

3 - said for that in 1. look, it doesnt really depend on how many books you have. whatever you have, study it well. yes, its possible if you study all by yourself. nothing's impossible. but of course you have to work hard.

4- mk singh or any of your class mate in mk singh's coaching can explain this to you better. dont ask such questions in forums. people here dont want to write for hours. ask doubts in short and expect short answers as well.

5- i also dont like such people. there is another teacher named h c shukla. ask anybody from delhi. i guess classes everywhere would have started by now. no point in looking for another teacher now. just continue taking the classes in the same place and dont waste your time.

6 - one? mk singh should give you a hundred of these.. lol
