A helicopter crashed at the town square in Sibu, Malaysia Monday afternoon, just opposite a hotel where Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was attending a function.
City police chief Shafie Ismail said the pilot was injured and has been admitted to hospital. There was no one else in the helicopter, he added.
It is learnt that Muhyiddin had arrived in another helicopter at the same place, just a few minutes before the crash.
The helicopter, belonging to Sabah Airways and among three carrying Muhyiddin's entourage, crashed at 1.50pm while taking off to return to Sibu airport.
