FAA Premier 1A single pilot type rating (RA390S) in actual plane

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to find a plane to do RA390S initial training inside an actual plane. I found couple of DPE's and CFI's, apperently non of them has the plane.:ugh: Does anyone know where I can find a plane to the training? :confused:

Why not do it in Sim, why the push in the plane?

If I do it in the sim, I will have 25 hour limitation. But that's not a problem. The problem is it seems like Flight Safety is the only company that does it in a sim and they charge 27k for a Premier type rating! :sad: I think that's too much for a plane similar to CE-500, where you can get a type rating for under 10k.
Also, in my humble opinion, no sim is like a real plane and if it costs about the same I'd rather do it in the plane.

Aeroncaman there are always the economics for a self provider who needs the type on his licence.

If he is an owner Pilot, with few hours on class, then I would agree, but if well experienced then the other route is possible, with more supervision than normal.

I flew PA31, Cit 1, 2, HS125, BE200, 300,350 without the benefit of a simulator.

First exposure to a sim was the Challenger.

If mentored properly, the old system was safe.

The push to do training (particularly initial training) in the simulator was a result of a series of airline jet crashes during training exercises in the 1960's. The industry decided that some maneuvers were simply too dangerous to do for real in an actual aircraft. Anybody who does a V1 engine cut in an actual aircraft for instance, is IMO crazy. Even if you could find somebody to do the training in the aircraft, I would be very surprised if the company insuring the aircraft would let you.......

For in aircraft training, specify the circumstances for V1 cuts. they are very conservative.

Several companies, (did) do OPC in aircraft, and LPC in sim.
