Discontinued takeoff at Riyadh on 6 April ?

While on approach to OERK on evening of 6 April,we had a runway switch to 33L due to an acft doing a rejected take off on 33R.

Then after 15 minutes we were given an approach to 33R - we noticed an acft getting some TLC from Fire service on Taxiway G1 (just after the start of the runway 33R).

Next day I saw a forlorn CX A330 on east remote - it was still there today 8th.

Rolls Royce strikes again ??

A330 still at RUH - but moved from East remote to West remote parking.
Any ideas about the reason ? Left engine cactus ??

Unless there is a war going on or a Nuke about to pop off then yes it is most preferable to have a failure before V1. :rolleyes:

I always adjust V1 down about 30 or 50kts in OERK and OEJN - or any other "OE" airport. I do that for safety.

Nearest siutable... OMDB, followed by anything east of VTBS :ok:

looks like a lucky crew will soon pax to RUH - I just went past HLO and saw that it is having a different (new/refurbished?) left donk installed today !!
