Am I blind... maybe I've missed the thread? I can't believe no one has commented on this news yet:

Tax grab 'set to cost North Sea £50bn' - Scotsman.com News (http://news.scotsman.com/news/Tax-grab-39set-to-cost.6744911.jp)

Well it is either: doom mongering and there are loads of new contracts up for grabs given the price of oil, or pilots working the North Sea have had enough of the bad news already?

Doom mongering....

The words 'cut off your nose to spite your face'...

yep the oil companies will stop it all, up sticks and leave:ok:

The many billions in quarterly profits will shrink just a little perhaps and thats about all that will happen, but just hear them moan about it for months to come.:D

The price of Brent Crude has risen 37% in the last 12-months so a 12% tax hike is not too hard to live with.

A shame the oil men of Aberdeen are having to pay for the greed of the money men in London though.
