My hat off to those guys - they did a pretty good job of 'parking' it. That pic from L i S looks unbelievable - I would have thought an accident 'waiting to happen'.

I guess all that stuff is magnetometer gear for finding ore deposits? The plane shows up on Fugro's website in the section on mining.

Must give the plane the glide characteristics of a Space Shuttle if it loses power.

Vey sad, i once talked to a crew of one of these some years ago in Edmonton. They seemed like a very nice bunch.

Short Bros decked out a Skyvan many years ago like that Casa 212 for mineral surveying in Canada.

Several oil companies, one in particular (;)) have put a lot of effort into safety in this sector.
