Recent advanced aircraft accidents have began highlighting the training aspect as a significant causal factor. In fact, Dr. Abbott (a leading researcher in the field) has raised some serious concerns about the future of training for new technology based aircraft (article in Flight International).

What does the future hold for advanced automated aircraft training? Do current policies and structures require a paradigm shift so as to keep up with technology?

In south Africa, the University of Pretoria is undertaking a major study to find out about core training aspects. If you're currently flying an SA registered advanced aircraft (e.g, B738, CRJ, Dash 8, A340, A319, etc), your input would be very useful. Feedback on the results will be available to all respondents who wish to have it. Please find the web survey link below, if you feel that you can contribute to the body of knowledge (and possibly help mould the future of aviation).:D
