I wish I could claim to have been sharp enough to have spotted this myself; but that honour goes to a mate of mine at work.

The new CAA 1:500,000 Chart has a new 'triangle' of controlled airspace centred on Nantwich. It is the bottom of Airway Y53 and is down to 3500ft msl. This area to the south of the Manchester CTA previously had a base of FL45.

Clearly it would be very easy to infringe this piece of airspace if you weren't aware of this recent change. For the military aviators, this new airspace doesn't appear on either the UK 1/4 mil HAC or the UK 1/2 mil LFC. It doesn't appear in the CHAD/CALF either.

If this has been flagged up elsewhere, please ignore; but I've not seen this recent change 'advertised' anywhere.

Could this be an error?

It's a cost-saving measure by AIDU - use less ink and save money;)
