FAA ATP on 737

Hi guys/gals.

Just received an email reply from Boeing Training, to my request to do a FAA ATP 737NG check ride in a sim at LGW. They quoted $14,000, which seems to suggest a full FAA type rating. Does this sound correct for a guy with a JAR CPL (A) 737NG and 2000 hrs on type.

Had I been going from FAA to JAR with +500 hrs I'd only need a LPC. Is there not a similar equivalent when going the other direction?

Perfect mate thanks for that. One of the comments on that forum had me calling the FAA to confirm and it is correct.

With my verification letter from UK CAA the FAA will stick my 737 rating onto new FAA PPL with Private privileges and day VMC only. While this sounds useless initially, Southwest are recruiting and they require,

Certificates/Ratings: U.S. FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate. Unrestricted U.S. Type Rating on a B-737 not required for interview, but required for employment1. "B-737 CIRC.APCH.-VMC ONLY" limitation is accepted.

Therefore, once I do FAA written and FAA checkride on a light twin, that will drag that rating onto the FAA ATP.

Simple way in 10 days to get an FAA ATP B737 providing you have more than 500 on type.

1. Get an FAA Class 1 medical

2. Sit FAA ATP written - (All ATPs.com $295)

3. Accelerated type course B737NG (Higher Power Aviation Dallas $8750)

This also sounds good, know of anywhere in Florida that offers this accelerated type course?

I know a few guys who went to Higher Power in Dallas and had good things to say, but it looks like you don´t need a full type rating course. You could contact them and see if they do an abbreviated one for you.
