hello Folks,

Everything is mentioned on the coastguards website www.indiancoastguard.nic.in (http://www.indiancoastguard.nic.in/) .

There is no relaxation on the basis of your experience, u have 200 or 2000 hours. The procedure remains the same.

As far as my experience no domain knowledge is asked for.

Age relaxation is for cpl holder till 27 i believe it is(1st JUn 84 - 92).

This is the most fairest means of selection based on the requirements of CG.
They are not looking for excellent domain knowledge because they beleive you have it already. They are looking for OLQ's, ie , officer like qulaities.

If they see all in you ,you will be RECOMMENDED, if not you will be NOT RECOMMENDED.

PSB includes- Non verbal and verbal reasonings test. 50-60 questions and time given is 25 min.
and then Picture perception test.

FSB- GD's, military planning, debate, psychological test and interview.

The selection is based on RECOMMENDATIONS.

Panel recommends you to the board and the board decides if you are suposed to be recommneded for further procedures. they are medicals and then Merit list.

As far as i know they conduct these selection Three times for single entry(can be less, on the CG discreation). Like for July intake this is the first entry, similarly there will be two more. Out of the people recommned in all three entries there will be merit and top 60 will be called for training in NAval academy Ezhimala.
