RMP Post Removed

On Monday I posted a message soliciting opinion regarding the need or otherwise for a dedicated radio management panel on a certain aircraft. My post wasn't in any way contentious so far as I could see and there was no malice intended, but it has been removed, so I assume someone must have complained about it. When I complained about its removal, I got a very flippant response by email from someone who I assume is a moderator, along the lines of "we can do what we like, we don't have to tell you why, you signed up to that, if you don't like it jog on". No explanation why it was removed.

One of the things I like about this site is the general air of friendliness and the way that people are usually indulged even when one's first thought might be "What on earth are they on about?". So I am a bit shocked and disappointed to receive such a response and I can only assume that said mod had a bad day at the office.

Can anyone who read my post give me an idea why it was removed (especially if you complained about it)? It would be nice to know so I don't make the same mistake again.

Not me that complained but having read your original post the only thing I can think is that someone high up in the un-named company you work for, supporting the un-named aircraft, may have read it and felt you were in some way attempting to undermine some sort of corporate / commercial protocols.

Reading between the lines of your original post it seemed to me that you perhaps disagreed with the design of the un-named aircraft and, having been perhaps told to get back into your box by your company, were trying to garner support for your views to make your argument with your company stronger.

Quite a few 'perhaps' in there, and a lot of reading between the lines and conjecture from me, but its the best I can suggest!

Oh, I wouldn't worry about it, MSJ. They allow flippant nonsense from some and moderate pertinent but perhaps unpalatable comment from others.

It's the British way; a fingers-in-the-ears attitude which is part of the reason your country and aviation industry are in the mess they're in. But that's irony for you...

FB, it was actually interesting reading.

The kind of open and interactive dialogue that ought to happen more. Maybe things would improve if designers and users had more suchlike chats, and then had the purchaser decide about where to draw the line between how much of what they want to have / want to do.

The OP could repost in different terms, less of an attack on his employer and more in the spirit of "wouldn't this be a great idea?"

For what it's worth, I removed it because I was asked to, as it apparently got very close to breach of commercial confidentiality and was likely to cross the line if it stayed open.

Also for what it's worth, whoever sent you a "very flippant response by e-mail", it was not me. Who responds to any requests in here depends on what means you use to send the request.
