Apologies if this is not an appropriate forum for this question.

Has anyone seen a chair of this type before and could it have been made from a Spitfire prop as family legend recounts??

DGAC.

I would register on the flypast forums and ask in the Historical thread, what they do not know or come up with is to be honest, not worth knowing, they are masters at stuff like this.

Doesn't really come across as a Spitfire prop to me because of the contour and construction unless it was a very early model. They were commonly a compressed birch laminate covered by a cellulose nitrate sheath. Construction went by the name of Jablo, I think.
But as said earlier, the Flypast boys will soon come up with the answer.
