How does handle it the long lining almost vertical descents?:=

I was reading the posts and find well cached between a lot of blabla some good tips.:rolleyes:
A greather thanks to dammyneckhurts who spended some time to give me private tips, coming undoubtful from his great experience!:D
Does some of you still use the 204?
Any comparisation between 204 and 205?:confused:

I don't wanted to fly the Lama since I was believing it was not really an helicopter... but now after three year on it, I must admit that (with the K-Max and the Skycrane) it's the only aerial crane really made for this job!

Big disappointment when the 2 th december @ the seminar in Marignane we learned the future plans of EC :ugh:

We should close this peoples in a room without windows and break the key in the lock :E

This is the reason why I'm looking to learn the most possible about old reliable Mediums :ok:
(JR is good to play, but nothing to do here where you must lift off with a Ton :eek:)

I have flown the 205 for more than 2500 hours now (mostly military, but also Utility, seismic and fire fighting)...

If you still want to chat about experience, we can do some phone talk next week (when i am back to Germany)....

Yes, mostly seasonal on forest fires in Canada. Some are ex-Air America machines.

Ya, are those "ideal numbers" or someones idea of limits ? If ideal numbers...ideal for what?

Well I have about 1000 hours in the 205++ and the 210 all on fires. However I don't have any time in a lama, but I do have about 700 hours or so in the Astar with some longline.

I don't know if I really have any great words of wisdom for you but I will say that for me the huey is the most comfortable ship that I have Longlined out of. It has more room, a good sized bubble, and like you ask, at the end of the day I feel a lot less twisted up than say if I were flying a 500. Although that doesn't help you compare to a Lama...

The disadvantage of the huey is that damn teetering rotor it's mushy as hell, but you get used to it.

Overall, I believe you will like the old girl...

give Heliswiss or AirGrischa a call, they both have operated 204's, 205's and 214's in the past!
