So we've myriad threads on breaking in to a career in Flight Test, however I wonder if anyone fancies relating their advice and experiences of how to best manage a career once in the business?

My background is as an FTE, however all are welcome to contribute.

Does it pay to keep moving around every few years, or stay planted and build your way up in a company? As a graduate, should you look to sticking it out to the ~5 year point where you're considered just experienced enough to stay out of trouble, or would an early move not necessarily hold you back? Equally as an experienced professional, is there a good time to branch out into a management role, consultancy, etc?

I realise everyone's path is different, doubly so in Flight Test...but it's food for thought.
