Anybody know if Chinooks still operate off HMS Ocean. I just want to know if their crews are still Ocean going so to speak.

18 Sqn were the last Chinook crews that I heard of operating from HMS Ocean. There is an article in the RAF news archive that refers to them when they lifted a Blackhawk from the side of a hill 7500 ft up in 2009. Don't know if they have been replaced by another squadron though.

Currently cleared but luckly don't do it often. It was always nicer to operate from a CVS though. Better understanding of air integration and a generally much nicer place to live. Good job we kept them all instead of the O boat or answer B
