This photograph was taken in '56 or '57. The photo is annotated with "To Christmas Island?" I recognizes the man in the hat and coat with the furtively held fag (Oh Father!) and the LAC hat badge, but does anyone recognize at the very least the regiment or the building -it looks too impressive for Stanstead in the 50's.

Hello Ray - good to see your Dad again, I only saw him once when he dropped you off at school and that was some time ago. I'm pleased to see his 'gasper' - smoking was, and still may be, a great tradition and often a necessity in the flying business.
I dunno much about uniforms but most of those chaps look as though they are Fusiliers of some sort. Cheers Tom.

As the hackles appear to be white this may be the Royal Fusiliers also known as The City of London Regiment.
