Meteor NF.13, 39 & 219 squadrons

Those of you who have seen my article on the Meteor FR.9 in recent Flypasts enjoyed it I hope. Now I'm wanting to focus on another Meteor variant: the NF.13; which, I know, served with just two RAF Squadrons: nos 39 and 219. In the space available in a magazine article I am inclined to narrow my focus to try to do justice to the subject.
In this respect I am also asking if there is anyone who was involved with the NF.13 in both these squadrons who would be prepared to share memories and information with me.

Incidentally, thanks to those who kindly contributed to my recent Venom Night Fighter thread. The draft of the article is well under way...............and what an interesting and enlightening topic that was!

I took a copy of a photo that appears in a file in the National Archives at Kew that dealt with the RAF participation in the Rhodes Centenary Air Rally that took place in Salisbury, Rhodesia in 1953.

It was annotated 219 Squadron N.F. 11.

I was at Central Fighter Establishment West Rynham In 1950 as ground crew with Fighter Interception Develpment Squadron and Radar Interception Squadron When we had the first NF13 prototype from Armstrong Witworth what we called it is best left to your imagination for trials prior to acceptance into the RAF i cant remember if it was the first or the second prototype but it had the P in a circle on it and was very shiny and new. I left Rynham before it finished its trials.hope this helps:hmm::hmm:
