Need to know the differences in flight performance (speed/payload) due to CFM 56 B1 (20K lbs thrust) and CFM B2/3C1 (22K lbs thrust) fitted to B737-300F/SF. We are considering to uplift 18T payload, will B1 engines help? What would be the best engine type for this amount of payload to fly a range of 1700nm into China? Appreciate genuine advices...

You need to give more information, such as Nautical Ground Miles or Air Miles, what about the distance to alternate, or the departure airport elevation and average temperatures, you should also consider if there are takeoff weight limitations due to obstacles in the flight path, or what about the PCN. All of these will have a bearing on the takeoff weight required, hence the required fuel and finally the available payload......
BTW, 1700 nms each way, have you considered the crew duty day limitations?

Engines are not the main or only factor in the range unless you operating from a performance-limited airfields. Engine model/trust/mtow/mzfw/mlw combinations are very wide on Boeing and Airbus aircraft. In theory you can have a high trust engine which will get you nowhere due to low operating weights of airframe.

Why don't you consider to hire somebody who knows this business?

We found that at EGSS the difference between the B1 + B2 engines was approximately 7000 kgs.

No idea where we can get hold of such people who can do the study for us.

There are a few companies that can do the study desired, however....they actually have to be paid for the privilege.:}

To start you must look in the AFM limitations section to see the structural limits.( Both should be the same)
Both B1 + B2 engines for example from a sea level airport and a runway of more than 10000 feet, you should have no problem taking a Max payload for a 1700 mile sector.
Note crew duty should not be a problem being that would only be a 4:00 sector.

The CFM56 B1 and B2 engines are the same engines and can, with a day's work, be reconfigured into each other.

No idea where we can get hold of such people who can do the study for us. Contact Boeing: Boeing: Commercial Airplanes - Commercial Aviation Services - Operational Performance - Flight Operations (http://www.boeing.com/commercial/flightops/index.html)
They know it for sure.
