Walking along Moorgate at about 2:15pm today, a Chinook passed slowly overhead at VERY low level. It disappeared behind some buildings but I glimpsed it again, it looked like it had turned around and was hovering for a short time but I couldn't see if it then landed or not.

Anyone any idea what it was doing?

No idea but I saw it lifting off too - great sight.

If it was near Moorgate and if it did land it was probably on the grounds of the Honourable Artillery Company in Bunhill Row.

Military helicopters have landed there in the past.
