You know it would happen again. The electrical panel fire is now having its effect.

This IS of interest to hundreds of professional pilots.

Why move it, unless the Muds are "influenced" ?

It's shocking that R&N has become 'crashes only'.

Unless it's QF A380, where pages of technical drivel are tolerated.

I would agree with you. R&N isn't what it use to be, accidents are sure to stick, the rest is moved. The technical discussion of the A380 incident was moved to the Technical Forum. It is also noteworthy that the R&N forum has only two pages listed, a record low. Perhaps the problem is that it is managed by a committee. Remember, a camel is a horse designed by a committee. :ok:

Better to find them in the hangar than in flight.

Got any further proof or is it just a rumour flying around?

Is what a rumour? Press relaeses from Boeing are not considered rumour, are they?

Talking of which; don't you just love the disclaimer in the release?

"This revised timeline for first delivery accommodates the work we believe remains to be done to complete testing and certification of the 787," said Scott Fancher, vice president and general manager of the 787 program. "We've also restored some margin in the schedule to allow for any additional time that may be needed to complete certification activities," Fancher said.

The 787 program has been gradually returning individual airplanes to the flight test program. After receiving interim software and hardware improvements, four flight test airplanes have been subjected to extensive ground testing and a thorough review to ensure their readiness to return to flight. The remaining two airplanes will be returning to flight in the days ahead to bring the full flight test fleet back up to flight status. (I guess this means they are in the hangar, in bits!)

The revised first delivery date is not expected to have a material impact on 2010 financial results. Financial guidance and anticipated initial 787 deliveries for 2011 will be discussed in the company's earnings call on Jan. 26.

And now, the piece de resistance.....

Well i don't remember reading a press release about Serious structural problems?

The last delay was caused by a fire in the electrical panel. Now that seems to have been fixed and a new delivery date announced.

Back in 2008 there was a structural problem with the wing and wing box, but i thought these problems had been rectified?. :hmm:

If there are "other" serious structural problems, then wouldn't Boeing, under the Private securities litigation reform act 1995, have to announce the problem?
