According to the Sydney Morning Herald (SMH), the carrier’s subsidiary, Pacific Blue, posted a bottom-line loss of NZD19.8 million in the year to June 2010.

This figure compared with a deficit of NZ$786,000 in 2008-09, and with a profit of NZ$5.4 million in 2007-08, the newspaper reported.

And that's why one of the first things JB did was to get rid of the loss making routes.

Get rid of the loss casuing parasites in the village. Brett the incompetent left a legacy of jerks in the village who still lose money for the joint. A complete joke and lack of direction is one problem, not to mention management having no trust in them from staff. Brett has a lot to answer to shareholders for and as long as his remaining footstools stay there the longer they will bleed money. Andrew David, Brett, Swift and the other operational managerial date lickers have trashed the place. Grioli needs to go back to managing warehouses and Jardine needs to tuck her giant jugs away and head back to some two bit airline in the swamps of Canada where she belongs - they are incompetents, leaches, grubs and oxygen thieves.
