50th Anniversary on Mon 24 Jan 11 for all who joined the Royal Air Force as Boy Entrants on Tue 24 Jan 61 (at least those who joined at RAF St Athan). 18,262 days between then and next Mon! Plenty of detail on the B/E website for Cosford and Hereford, but little about Saints.

I (138) will be celebrating with 343 in Lincoln on Mon eve. Cheers to any Pruners who also share this anniversary.

AARON, you have one thing going for you, that no one can beat, your entry was the last, mind you, whose blocks did you raid when you became senior entry?

;)

We raided the blocks of the new Admin Apprentices.

We had to spend a long time as Junior Entry as the 301st entry of AA did not join up until Sep '64!

BLOCKS, you had BLOCKS! We lived in shoeboxes (and they were shared)

There's an association for former Boy Entrants (http://www.rafbea.org/default.html) which organises regular get-to-gethers.

Work it out DH, 138 was his last three.

Only Locking and Halton had entries. The rest had intakes. Not too sure about Halton either. :ok:

We had our 50th in Sept last - 96th ENTRY Locking. Congrats to the rest of the oldtimers. That's pronounced old-timers not alzheimers.:\

Thanks for clearing that up Arthur R, but not sure I deserved the insult,Work it out DH.
It threw me off 'cos I, (880), was in 138 entry, but as it's only our 30th anniv. this year I'll cede to your experience.

alisoncc, I can't speak for Locking, but at Halton we were always addressed as 'x' entry.

And to all 42nd entry, congrats on your 50th.

Thanks for all your good wishes guys. Arthur R, we were really v quiet; we were hit by the 38th the day after we arrived and vowed not to repeat when we were senior entry!

343 and I will raise a glass to the 42nd and all ex-Boys on Mon. Thanks too Ricardian re the BEA, but there are v v few 42nd Saints guys in it. Mind you, Mal Kidd was a 42nd adminner and he retired a gp capt. Nice guy, used to work with him at RIAT in a much later life.

Nothing personal, but have distinct memories of that being the standard insult of the day - so-and-so are not an entry they're a bloody intake. :ok:

Time doesn't diminish it's impact. Still gets the hackles up. :D

I'm interested to know how many of the 48 graduates of the 42nd entry at St. Athan are able to attend these reunions?

Only 48 graduates in the 42nd? We had nearly that many in 40th D Flt. alone.

Just done a head count from an old photo, 29 B/Es in D Flt, 40th, Saints.;)

let me rephrase the question: how many 42nd entrants were able to attend the reunions?
