Here is the report by the Indian DGCA on the runway overun incident at Mumbai on November 10 , 2009

The incident took place when the part of the runway was closed for repairs and hence a reduced LDA was available

An interesting read as to how various factors always contribute towards an Incident/Accident

No mention of what the rest period was before the flight, or of any other possible fatigue or FDTL issues. A deliberate oversight or are we supposed to take it for granted that there weren't any? Otherwise looks like a pretty straight forward case.

Couple questions about Kingfisher and the ATR72.

1. Do all newhire pilots start on the ATR nowadays or do newhires also start on the Airbus? Do newhire Airbus pilots come with ratings or experience from other Indian Airbus operators?

2. Are ATR Captains sourced from the ATR and the Airbus (i.e., from Airbus FO to ATR Captain) or do most start on the ATR as FOs?

3. Are the bases for ATR any different than the Airbus bases?

4. Lastly, how different is the pay on the ATR vs. the Airbus - big difference for newhires and Captains or similar pay levels?

Apologies if these questions have been asked before. Thanks for any input. Cheers
