Like B737 and A320, will there be an opening for Q400 rated pilots?

Hmmm... Let See

AT present Spicejet has firm orders for around 15 Q400.
Dont know when they will be delivered though...

Paramount is rumored to have Q400 on order...

Another startup in India called Freedom Air or Air Freedom or something similar like that also has Q400 on order

However before you jump the gun its always best to have a job offer before you go the type rating .

Also remember that the Q400 is a turboprop aircraft .

Airlines in India does not seem to value turboprop experience and hence prefers pre type rated applicants rather than
candidates with experience :ugh:

So once you are on the turboprop you might just be stuck there for a very long time unless you pay for a new type rating
( exception being Jet Airways which provides career progression to its pilot from ATR o B737 etc )

Or you could try the middle east :E

Why dont you atleast try for the Jet Airways trainee first officer instead ?

Isn't the Q400 training costs about $28,000 USD. Pretty high to self sponsor it. Paying for type rating and getting a job has the same probability as puting that money on a game of Black Jack!
