Riyadh, January 8TH: A medical chopper crashed Friday morning in southern Riyadh killing all four crew members, according to an official from the Ministry of Defense and Aviation.

The medical helicopter that belonged to the Saudi armed forces was en route to Hawtah Bani Tamim, 240 km from the capital to pick up a patient.

Incorrectly identified by ASN (http://aviation-safety.net) as a Cougar. From the picture here (http://www.saudigazette.com.sa/index.cfm?method=home.regcon&contentID=2011011091002) it appears to be a Dauphin.

It was a military MEDEVAC Dauphin. A MOI S-92 crew went out on the SAR and found the helicopter 22 miles to the south of Riyadh.
