Hi,

I'm sure someone else asked the same question before, but i'm pretty strapped for time so wanted to see if anyone could help me out.

I been searching on google to find any information about the process from conveting FAA to China ATP!!!! I been told that after the company is sponsoring you, you needa complete a theory exam!!!!

So i was wondering, is this exam like many other countries a Airlaw exam? or is it an ATP exam like the FAA? or is it perhaps like the JAA theory exam??

Anyone know's if its possible to find the questions anywhere?

Is it just 1 written test or would there be several like the JAA Exams?

I really would appreciate any information that could be given as i am looking at accepting a job offer in Beijing......

But condensed:

1) Find a Chinese Airline thru agency that will interview you, and you can convert it ALL. There's NO other possible and affordable way that I know of...

Thanks for the reply's,

I am going for an interview for a Corporate job in China, when i talked to them they said they would be validating the FAA License. Does anyone know if this mean that you will be doing the Chinese ATP Written test or Their Air Law test or are these the same exams??? found a file online but that was a m@#$Q## file, 1200 pages of questions, hope thats not what i be looking at doing..

Anyways thanks for your answers just wondering if anyone know the above question.

You will get/have to take the 100 question CAAC ATP written, which is similar to the FAA one, as are the Chinese regs which even use the same parts, Part 67 for medical standards, for example. Then a medical for the medical certificate, then a check ride in the sim or airplane.

They really are not converting your FAA to CAAC, but they are accepting your flight time and experience based on the FAA certificate that you hold. Otherwise they would have to show/give you the full initial ground school for the type of plane to be flown, but since it is on your FAA certificate, you are considered current and qualified. So all they do is the CAAC type rating, which will then count as your first PC for the company, so you can essentially start flying right away.http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.pprune.org/get/images/smilies/eek.gif

Hello,

Does anyone know if the CAAC requires a PIC endorsement on the typerating in order to convert your ICAO/FAA/JAA ATPL to a chinese ATPL? This would be for an FO position, not CAPT. I have searched the CAAR for this info without success.
