What is the best route to getting a cpl either via private funding or scholarship??

Hey all,

I'm an atco in the uk who works the London tma, due to my interest in aviation, this has slightly rubbed off on my younger brother, a 19 year old student, who now really wants to be a pilot! As an atco I obviously can only offer him limited advice on pilot training and I figured this would probably be a good way to get a bit more info :-). A cadetship somewhere would be the preference, however, any advice or snippets of info anyone could give me regarding costs, training etc would be much appreciated!

Cadetships are offered periodically by Etihad, they is a big thread below. Make sure he reads through all of it, it is long but will have useful information. The same with Cathay there is a large thread in the Fragrant Harbour forum, again read all. Atlantic Airlines used to offer a sponsorship. I don't know much about it. I'm sure there will be a thread here somewhere
