This has been lying against the side of a farm building right outside the entrance to the Museum Of Flight at East Fortune for at least 12-15 years, does anyone out there know what type of aircraft it's from? -

Comet ? Looks about the right size, the wheels "Look" British as opposed to US manufacture , but I stand to be corrected.

Isn't there a Comet at the Museum? Looks pretty similar:

It is indeed a damaged Comet 4C undercarriage leg.

And my Tuppence is on it being ex XK655 from Strathallan.



Edit:- That figures because XK655 broke the Stbd side landing at Strathallan. :ok:

The schematic is a port leg and the farmyard picture a stbd leg.
