Can anyone tell me wat is the requirement to make the IR current after it has been lapsed.?
fam flight for 2 hrs is fine to renew it. but is the same requirement even after 1 year.?
do we need to do any other additional checks for IR renewal.?

That would depend on the Country and Authority who issued it.
Maybe you could be more specific,

Your renewal has to be done with a TRTO, they will have to submit an application to the licence issuing CAA.
Mostly these applications are granted, but, you never know as this is a case by case decision.

When you go for your type rating ask the examiner to fill out the IR renewal check form that is available on the DGCA website.

Make sure its completed and signed by him and he was not part of your initial training in the SIM sessions.... preferably on the day of checkride mention this to him and forward your requirement as specified in the CARs for a IR renewal.

Once he signs it off send it to the DGCA as part of your documents for type endorsement and your IR is renewed for that Type ONLY!

Mind you, a 2hr FAM will not count as an IR renewal since you will not be doing any full instrument approaches or single engine work... specially if going for corporate flying in india...
Unaware if they accept FAM as IR renewal for the airlines...

Hope this helps.... Cheers
