Hi folks, just need a quick bit of help. I have finally passed all my ATPL exams, but the cost and time consuming nature of the 14 exams in 18 months meant i couldnt afford to do any flying. I now havent flown for 2 years. Basically i was wondering what i need to do to get my PPl valid again as i am still inside the 5 year rule.

Any help very much appreciated folks, have a good xmas.

Yep, LASORS is your friend. You won't be revalidating, you'll be renewing your class rating (SEP). Your licence will still be valid. Renewal is by means of a Licensing Skill Test (LST) with an Examiner. LASORS Section F1.6 p.12 of Sec F.

LASORS will also tell you that the clock now ticks. Assuming you've just passed the last exam in the recent diet (results this week) you have until 31 December 2013 to get CPL and IR. Or else you'll have to do them all over again:E

Good luck

i don't remember very well, but if memory doesn't fail you have 18 months to do the 14 exams, after completed exams 3 years to do the IR/CPL.. BUT if you did just your IR you could extend that time to 7 years.. wasn't something like that? oh perhaps i had a wicked dream.. :)

LASORS Sec J1.7 p.7...."If a CPL and IR are not granted witin the 36 month acceptance period then the ATPL theory credit will lapse"

The underlined 'and' is their underline, not mine. There is a 7 year thing as well, but my head now hurts

From Lasors section D:

Potential candidates for the JAR-FCL CPL(A) should first
consider the implications of JAR-FCL 1.495 that relates to
the Acceptance Period.
A pass in the theoretical knowledge examinations given in
accordance with JAR-FCL 1.490 will be accepted for the
grant of the CPL(A) or IR(A) during the 36 months from
the end of the month of the date of gaining a pass in all
the required examination papers*. Provided that an IR(A)
is obtained in accordance with the above, a pass in the
ATPL(A) theoretical knowledge examinations will remain
valid for a period of 7 years from the last validity date of the
IR(A) entered in the CPL(A) for the issuance of an ATPL(A).

*All requirements for the issue of the CPL(A) and IR(A)
must be met and the applicant required to apply to PLD for
issue within the 36 month validity

Solved"! :D
