The missus wants to buy me a stocking filler so thought a book might be worthwhile. Which is best out of:

Job Hunting for Pilots
Airline Pilot Interviews
The Airline Career & Interview Manual
Ace the Technical Pilot Interview
Any other?

I've heard the Ace the Technical Pilot Interview is riddled with errors but not much about the others. Thanks in advance.

Ace the pilot interview!!!!!

Yes i think i heard about the errors in there as well... But you can just refer the questions in there and go through your ATPLs books to get the answers... Bcoz questions in there are pretty much the same questions which has been asking in the interviews... Personal opinion no offence...

Ace the pilot interview is the better one ,, the good thing about this book that it covers many subjects (general) and (type related questions)

I bought Ace The Technical Interview, 2 or 3 years ago. I havent found any glaring mistakes in it but then again I havent really read it :O Its now sitting in the attic collecting dust so if anyone wants it they can have it. If you cover the postage fee im happy to send it. Let me know if your interested.

I'd say if I were you I would NOT get the Ace the Technical Pilot Interview book!

Flicked through a copy this summer and saw massive inaccuracies in it, I was amazed something like that could be published!

I take it you're not familiar with The Lift Formula then? Neither is the editor of ATTPI or the author despite his self-professed expertise, it would seem.

Before anyone thinks of paying good money for THAT book, do a search here and brace yourself for some pretty scathing reviews.

And the remainder of the sentence was to the effect that I hadnt actually read it! Bloody pedants...if your going to quote people then quote them correctly. And yes I am familiar with the lift formula thankyou, having passed my atpl's nearly 5 years ago.

I'd very much recommend Aircraft Performance, Theory and Practice For Pilots, 2nd Edition, by Pete Swatton

Calm down dear, it's called banter! The book is rammed full of both glaring and insidious errors. Bit daft commenting on the content of the book if you haven't actually read it. A 14-year-old Air Cadet should be able to write more accurate text than many of the examples in that book.

P.S. I'd throroughly recommend 'Police Academy 7: Mission To Moscow' but I've never been able to sit through more than 10 minutes of it.:ok:
