Has anyone had dealings with Active Aerospace in Vancouver Canada in recent years? There was a lot of flack 5/6 years ago from a few people but nothing said since then. Any experience with the "placement programs" they suggest? Thx

Ohh Dear...all i can say is..hope and pray for best!!

Why didn't all of you searched this forum or did some research about this FAKE type rating center....i do hope none of you gave too much advance fee to this bloody crook "Wlat" who goes by many names...

If possible try to do ratings in some established ones...it might cost few more but you are investing your time and money for sake of good flying DEC career rather then dusting up chart panels and mini screens of Walt's fake center.

He has no contacts with any airlines up in north america or even in latin america where he is rumoured to be flying...all he did and still does is request the ones who did trainings from his fake center to submit CV's to regional or airlines HR desk,if any of them are employed in those. My cousin did this same mistake a year back and he is still trying to recoup his lost money and time.

P.S : Dont fall for flashy advert's on various sites.Pay more to get better training.

Sorry about restarting an old thread.. thought it would be better than starting a brand new one on a similar topic.
Does anyone have any information/experience about doing a A320 type rating with Active Aerospace or any other type rating schools in Canada and then adding it onto a JAA license.
From what I have found out so far, the school as well as the examiner has to be JAA approved.
Does any one know of such a school/TRTO?

It is an interesting question... where to do the type rating?

What kind of a person are you? Are you disciplined to study a lot? Will you do a lot of pre type rating reading? If yes then you can also use smart cockpit, brilliant questions.

What I am getting at is that if you do a cheap rating well you get what you pay for. Steve is a great instructor but he is not there, the instructors care but it is a very skinny type rating, 4 SIMS...... buyer beware. Not saying don't do it, just saying that you have to put so much more into it.

There are many ratings out there, CAE in Kuala Lumpur runs a good one I am told.

AA is a great way to get it but remember you must put in heaps of extra work!

There was this scene from Scarface where Al Pacino describes what "chauzzer" is which is a pig that does not fly straight. This is an exact description of the company manager who promises full completion of the course however the company does not have an examiner and therefore cannot complete the course and has to delay the program again. I mean it drives me  nuts because I was working my ass off for to excel on that type rating and thus getting it. For anyone who is interested in the type rating please avoid AAT Global Inc like you would avoid it like the plague. I mean  3 delays what next... that I have to  three more years. Jesus Christ!!!

Guys Stay very far away from this Guys please, do not waste your time and money. This is a one man operation...I did my type rating on the 320 with this guy, i was one of the few that got it done in 2 weeks, passed the Check with flying colours,

Flash FWD to my Airline training, this is where i found out just how bad a type rating i got with Walt..I knew nothing about FCOMs, Dual HYD fails, Slot/Slats Jam, Airspeed Unreliable, memory Items, FMGS programming..etc..things someone with a type rating should know

Thank god i was able to work hard and pass my Airline training.. as for AAT helping you find a Job RLOL Walt is a big fat lie,

Only good thing with this program was the X Air Canada instructor that did my training in the SIM he mad sure i was comfortable hand flying the FDs off/ Raw data.
