Not very flattering.

Never leave an airfield in Africa without full tanks.

If you're making decisions based on a timeline, consider how long it will take to move your passengers via ground movement in the back of an ambulance.

Slight thread drift but I wish RAF News was as independent as the US version. Our rag thinks it's being edgy if it publishes a letter criticising the woolly-pully!

I love the RAF News. It's so out of touch with reality it's adictive. I see the typhun image is no longer on the deployed ops map and not Trimotor in site.

For those interested in such things the wreckage of this Dash-8 is now at Kemble (or Cotswold Airport as it's now called) in Gloucestershire for scrapping.

Why would they fly the wreckage from Africa to Gloucestershire for scrapping ?

Would anything be useable ?

y-e-s,
it does seem a bit over the top on the positive spin stat, to be grateful for the skill of the pilots at crash landing when their ineptitude caused the crash in the first place. Mind you, with that sort of decision making ability they'll probably both be quite experienced at crashing aircraft before too long...

They will both make colonel before they can spell "promotion board".
