Hi all,

I've done a search, but I can't seem to find the answer.

Can we come up with a "to do list" of PPL -> FI course application.

Within this, can I check that a CPL/IR is different to (and not a requirement of) the Frozen ATPL. Lots of conflicting information out there it seems!

Thanks in advance,
Phil

Prerequisites for becoming an PPL FI are set in JAR-FCL-1, specifically in JAR-FCL-1.335. Little self-studying isn't going to hurt anyone

Once again, there is no such legal term as "frozen ATPL or fATPL". It's just made up term which (for most times) describes JAA CPL with ME/IR rating and valid ATPL theory credit - it may include MCC. Looking to it legally, as long as you have JAA CPL with an IR rating that didn't expire more than 7 years ago "freezes" your 14 ATPL exams...

Here's a tip for Alpha male- and I see it all too often on these sites, when genuine people need a point in the right direction.

Alpha male, if you feel like banging your head against the wall when reading a post, simply don't reply. Rather then making yourself come across like the arrogant tw4t that you are! :ugh::ugh::ugh::ugh:

PLAY THE BALL - NOT THE PLAYER and stick to the thread!

You are correct the account I'm using is new, but doesn't mean for one second I'm new to prune. I went off the site for a while, basically due to the attitude too many people show on here, and forgot my username etc (not that I need to explain myself to anyone, who thinks they too may be trying to intimidate what they believe to be a newbie to prune).

If the mods feel as though they need to ban someone for sticking up for a newbie, when we should be welcoming them, rather then scaring them, then ban me. I won't lose too much sleep over that.

I come back to my original point, if you want to help someone then help. I don't agree with helpful info and in the same sentence belittling the person for not doing their own research. Either help or don't - sorry I must be going crazy if I'm the only one that thinks it.

There is no law as to what you can or cannot ask on here, if the mods think it's been done a death I'm sure they'll delete it.

I apologise in full for this thread. I was well aware that it was the sort of thread which is often asked, however it was something of a clarification.

I could not find what I was looking for through the search function. Be that a deficiency in myself or in the search function, I will leave up to debate!

In truth, I am not a pilot, nor do I want to be one, I was asking on someone else's behalf, so I'm also sorry that perhaps my idea of what 'the best search terms' might have been was probably way out.

Thank you for the very useful list, it did point me in a useful direction.

Feel free to lock this thread now. It has served its purpose, and nobody need me berated by anyone else on my account.
